I am wanting to plan a trip for my sister and I to see the Halloween decorations at night. I don't want to purchase a ticket and then have to leave before we can see the decorations lit up. What would you recommend doing? Thank you!

Hello there Renae,

Welcome to planDisney and thank you for your question! I'm happy to hear that you and your sister are planning a trip to the Happiest Place on Earth during the spookiest time of year - the Halloween season!

I love visiting the Disneyland Resort during this season, and I completely understand wanting to see everything lit up at night. It's like a totally different experience!

To check on the best times to visit, there are a few things I would recommend keeping in mind. First, the Halloween season officially kicks off on August 23, so make sure you visit after that date.

Second, on select nights throughout this season, the Oogie Boogie Bash - A Disney Halloween Party will be occurring in Disney California Adventure Park, so you would need to leave this park by 6:00 PM if visiting on one of these dates. Therefore, I would recommend checking the event page to see a list of these dates if you're trying to plan around them.

Beyond that, you should be able to experience both parks at night as you'd like! It might also be helpful to consider purchasing the Park Hopper option so you can jump between parks starting at 11:00 AM each day.
