We are wanting to plan a trip next October. When is the earliest we book?

Hey there, Jessie. Welcome to planDisney

It is so exciting that you are ready to start the planning process for your most magical vacation. Walt Disney World is such a wonderful place to visit during the fall, everything is decked out for Halloween. It's so fun!

Jessie, I am thinking you are wanting to plan your trip for October 2023. Is that correct? If so, you can actually book your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel reservation 499 days in advance. Right now, that puts us in the August timeframe so you still have a few months to do. To make a hotel-only reservation that far in advance you'll need to know your travel dates, the preferred hotel that you would like to stay at and be able to pay a one-night stay as a deposit. You can make a hotel-only reservation by calling  (407) 939-1936.

In the past, vacation packages for the next year are released sometime within the months of June or July. There isn't a set date for this so you will just have to keep checking back. Vacation packages include a Walt Disney World resort hotel stay reservation and your Walt Disney World Theme Park tickets. If your 499-day booking window is open before vacation packages are released, I would recommend booking your room first. Then, when packages are available for booking you can go ahead and call back to upgrade that hotel only stay to a vacation package at that time.

If I've misunderstood and you'd like to vacation in October 2022, you can go ahead and start the booking process today. You can visit the Walt Disney World website anytime and customize a package that fits your needs!

I hope this helps, Jessie. If you have other questions along the way, please feel free to reach back out to me. I'm here to help.

    Happy planning!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
