We are wanting to plan a trip to Disneyland in 2025 and, if possible, be there during the 70th birthday celebrations. Can you advise from what date Disneyland will start celebrating it's 70th birthday next year. Thanks K

    Hiya Kaye!

Welcome to planDisney, it's great to meet you! I am a huge fan of Disney history (especially when it comes to Walt Disney Imagineering) and I think it's awesome that you're already looking forward to celebrating Disneyland Park's 70th birthday next year!

While we know lots of details about all the fun happening at the Disneyland Resort in 2024 we haven't heard anything official for 2025 just yet. I'm looking forward to that announcement, too! I have fond memories of "40 Years of Adventure" when I was a kid and one of my favorite rides opened: Indiana Jones Adventure. We loved translating all the hidden messages on the walls of that queue while we anxiously waited to experience the ride for the first time! There were beautiful celebrations for the 50th and 60th anniversaries as well. Honestly, it seems like the diamond celebration for the 60th was just yesterday!

I don't know for sure when we will get to celebrate next year, but I can share that the last two "decade" anniversaries officially started the fun in May leading up to the July 17th official celebration day. That may narrow your planning window a little, but the safest thing is to wait for an announcement from the Disney Parks Blog before you book your travel. I'll be anxiously waiting right there with you!

I do have a couple of fun ideas for while we wait! First, I always recommend that international visitors find a trusted travel advisor in their home country who specializes in Disneyland Resort vacations. They are SO helpful and will make sure that your planning goes smoothly! Next, you should check out the new "We Call It Imagineering" series from Walt Disney Imagineering on YouTube. There is only one episode at the moment, but it gives an INCREDIBLE look behind the scenes at the audio-animatronics that are going to bring Tiana's Bayou Adventure to life later this year.

Kaye, I am so excited that you're planning to make the trip and celebrate this milestone at the Disneyland Resort. Please visit us again if you have other questions as you prepare for your journey!

    Keep moving forward!
