Hello! We are wanting to plan a trip with 9 days at the parks. Are we better off not using the military tickets and getting a 9-day pass from Disney or get 6-day military price ticket and 3-day from Disney or option three 6-day military and 4-day military?

    Welcome to Agrabah traveler!

Hi Nicki, let’s explore this Whole New World together! I would like to first send a huge thank you from my military family to yours. The specially priced theme park tickets for military members are fantastic, we usually go with the 6-Day Military Promotional Ticket.

I’m going to share with you what my family usually does, I hope this helps you make your decision. I am the vacation planner and mathematician for our family vacations. I will spend hours crunching numbers to determine what is the best option for my family.  I have learned that it honestly just depends on a variety of factors. Those factors help determine if it’s better to book through the Walt Disney World Resort official website, or going to my local U.S. military ticketing office to purchase tickets.

I recommend grabbing a notebook and pen and figuring out the cost of a military rate room, tickets (Tip: The 6 day has always been the best deal for us), and flights. On a different sheet, price out what your costs would be using the Walt Disney World Resort ticket prices. Depending on when you will be visiting, sometimes there may even be a special offer, deal, or discount offered through the Walt Disney World Resort website. I do know that Eligible Service Members are allotted a maximum of 6 Military Promotional Tickets. Depending on your party size, the third option may not work.

I hope this journey on the Magic Carpet has helped narrow down your options. My family has visited many times with a military discount and without. It honestly just depends on when and what you and your family would like to enjoy while visiting. Let us know if you need any more help as you continue to plan for this visit!
