Hi Helen!
Thanks for stopping by to see us again here at planDisney!
A split stay is a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious way to make your jolly holiday even more magical! And, you couldn't have picked two better resorts in
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and
Disney's Yacht Club Resort. Both of these properties offer amazing pools and convenient access to the parks. . .plus some fabulous dining! When your dining reservations open, make sure to grab a dinner at
Ale & Compass Restaurant during your stay at the Yacht Club - one of my favorite restaurants at Walt Disney World Resort! I highly recommend the New England Seafood Pot Pie!
Speaking of dining, let's "dish" on how to add the dining plan to your vacation plans. Disney currently offers
two dining plan options. The
Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan and the
Disney Dining Plan both offer convenience and flexibility, along with the bonus of a
great special offer in 2026, where kids between the ages of three and nine can enjoy a free dining plan when the adults in their reservation purchase dining plans for themselves. Dining plans can only be added to vacation packages that include both your hotel reservation and theme park tickets, which means that you must book your split stay as two separate packages to add a dining plan to each reservation. My panelist pal, JoAnna, walks you through
how to do this and adds some special notes if you're a Disney Vacation Club Member or Annual Passholder.
Helen, as you weigh your options, keep in mind that you can choose to add the same dining plan to each package or change it up and add the Disney Dining Plan to one part of your stay and the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan to the other. Additionally, you can choose to add a dining plan to just one of your reservations and not the other. If you do this, I'd suggest adding your dining plan to the first stay, as your meals and snacks can be redeemed through midnight on your first checkout night, and you can purchase your tickets for the extended length of your entire Disney World vacation - not just the days that you're booking that first resort.
If you've already started making your resort reservations, you may find it easiest to
call a Cast Member with Tickets and Hotel Reservations for options to modify your current plans. However, if you haven't yet started making your reservations, you should see the option to add a dining plan to any package that also includes theme park tickets. Of course, Cast Members are always just a phone call or online chat away if you run into any issues!
I hope this information has been helpful, Helen, and that you have a practically perfect visit to Walt Disney World Resort. If you have any other questions, please stop by to see us again here at planDisney!
See ya real soon!
