Wanting to plan a Disney vacation for 6 adults and one kid in 8 months

Hi there, Brittney!  You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney!

I'm so excited to hear that you're thinking about visiting Walt Disney World Resort early next year!  Walt Disney World Resort's 2024 vacation packages just recently became available for booking, so now is the perfect time to get the ball rolling on those plans!  You can start doing some research now, and when you're ready to book your trip, you can easily do so on the Walt Disney World website.

When planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation, I usually suggest first deciding which Disney Resorts Collection hotel you'd like to call your home away from home.  Our Disney Resort Hotels Pocket Guides under the Panel Extras section of our planDisney website are great resources for helping decide which resort hotel is right for you.  Since you're planning for a large group, be sure to check how many Guests each type of resort hotel room can accommodate.  You can either book two smaller rooms, or you may want to explore the Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts which are great for bigger groups.

Once you know where you'd like to stay, you can think about your theme park tickets.  Your park tickets can be purchased as part of a vacation package with a resort hotel stay or you may purchase them separately.  One benefit of bundling everything together in a vacation package is that you will also have the option to purchase a Disney dining plan since dining plans are returning in 2024.  Speaking of dining, be sure to make your dining reservations 60 days in advance.

If you haven't already done so, you'll want to download the My Disney Experience mobile app.  Once your trip is booked, be sure to link your reservations under the "Future Plans" section of the app.  During your trip, you'll use the My Disney Experience app to access Disney Genie and Disney Genie+ services, mobile food and beverage orders, and so much more.

As you prepare for your visit, I recommend doing a bit of research on the Walt Disney World Resort website to decide which attractions and entertainment offerings are going to be on your must-do list.  This not only helps you get ready for your trip, but it's also a great way to get the whole family involved in the planning process and excited about the adventures that you're going to experience together!

Brittney, if you have any other questions throughout your planning process, please visit us at planDisney again.  My fellow panelists and I are all ears!  See ya real soon!
