Wanting to take the kids when Christmas decorations are up, (Disneyland California) but trying to go during less busy time. When Is the earliest you can go in November and experience the Christmas magic?

    Hello Chris!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We’re so happy you’ve come by with a question! I simply love the holiday season! There’s nothing better than putting on my favorite festive sweater and visiting “The Merriest Place on Earth!”

Spending the Holidays at the Disneyland Resort allows you to experience the Most Magical Time of the year! It’s one of my favorite seasons at the parks and I’ll tell you why. The Characters are in festive outfits and there are tasty holiday treats! Sleeping Beauty’s Castle is covered in snow and the Haunted Mansion and “it’s a small world” are decorated for the holidays! Plus, both parks feature a holiday parade and a festive nighttime spectacular! At Disneyland, you’ll enjoy A Christmas Fantasy Parade and “Believe...In Holiday Magic” Fireworks! At Disney California Adventure Park you’ll experience Disney ¡Viva Navidad! Street Party and World of Color - Season of Light! It’s the perfect time of year to visit with your whole family!

While official dates for 2020 have not been released, let’s take a look at last year’s holiday season to get an idea of what to expect this year. Holidays at the Disneyland Resort started on November 8, 2019 and ended January 6, 2020. Generally, both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park see the majority of holiday visitors between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day. This year, Thanksgiving falls on November 26, 2020. I suggest coming a week or two before that. Also, weekdays tend to be less busy than weekends. Lastly, no matter what time of year you’re visiting, it gets busier as the day does on. My top tip is to get to the parks early when wait times tend to be shorter.

Enjoy spending time with your family at “The Merriest Place on Earth!” Come back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with more questions!
