Hi i was wanting to inquire about the scooter rental. 1. What type of of verification do you need to rent one of these? 2. Is there a key for the scooter for when we go on rides? 3. What park will the 5K be passing thru on Saturday morning 1/11/25?

Welcome to planDisney, Jasmin! I'm always excited to answer a question from another Louisiana guest planning a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort! It looks like your countdown is quickly winding down, so let's jump into each of your questions so you can be prepared for all the magic!

    • ECV Rentals are available at each Disney theme park for guests who require mobility assistance. The guest renting the ECV must be at least 18 years of age, and a photo ID is required for rentals to verify age. There is no other verification needed. Keep in mind that scooter rentals are limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis. For this reason, many guests choose to book a scooter rental through an outside company, such as ScooterBug, which is the official Disney featured provider. When renting through this provider, if you are staying as a guest at a Disney Resort hotel, the resort can accept the scooter delivery on your behalf and it will be waiting for you upon your arrival. You can also explore other third-party rental companies; you would need to be present to receive and return the scooter in that case.
    • When experiencing attractions, guests can park their ECVs in designated areas or stay with them through the accessible queues before transferring to a ride vehicle. If you stay with your ECV, a Cast Member will move it to the exit for you to retrieve after your experience. If you park it on your own, you will have a key to keep with you. My parents frequent the Disney Parks using ECVs and have never encountered a problem parking them or maneuvering them through the standby lines for attractions.
    • The 5K race happening as part of Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend will take runners through EPCOT on their 3.1-mile journey. The race will occur before park hours, so guests not involved in the event will not be affected during their theme park visit.
Jasmin, I hope this answers each of your questions! If you have any other questions, please come back anytime and let me know! Sending you all the pixie dust for a magical vacation!

    See you real soon,
    Alison
