Hi, Camille!
Leaving
Walt Disney World after a magical vacation is certainly much easier if you are heading to a Disney Cruise! I find it hard to choose which I prefer: Disney on land or at sea! Both are such wonderful ways to enjoy time with family and friends - and of course with Mickey and Minnie!
Disney Cruise Line offers transportation from Walt Disney World Resort Hotels to Port Canaveral. However, they do not have any transportation options from Walt Disney World Resort Hotels to
Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades). I have found the easiest way to get to Fort Lauderdale is to drive, allowing plenty of time as it is about a 4-hour drive (about 220 miles) from Walt Disney World. Rental cars are available at the
Car Care Center located near the Magic Kingdom if you need a vehicle.
Another option is to take a quick flight from the Orlando International Airport (MCO) to the Fort Lauderdale Airport (FLL). It is just about 15 minutes from the Fort Lauderdale Airport to the Port Everglades Cruise Port. You may
book Disney transportation from the airport to the cruise port (reservations required) or hop in a taxi or book a rideshare.
You have many options, so choose what will work best for you and your family. Whatever you choose, just make sure to allow plenty of travel time allowing for transfers, connections, and check-ins. After looking over your options, feel free to stop back to planDisney if you need more details or information on transportation options.
Best of luck to you as you plan your magical vacation to Walt Disney World and a sailing on Disney Cruise Line!
