We are wanting to go to Disneyland December 25-29. 4 adults and 1 6 year old child. We need two hotel rooms, tickets for entry and any other things we might need. What airport is closest to the park and what hotels offer faster entrance.

Hi there, Anne. Welcome to planDisney!

I’m delighted to see you’re planning a trip to the Happiest Place on Earth during the holidays. With Sleeping Beauty Castle shimmering, plenty of tasty foods and treats to whet your palate, and festive overlays on favorite rides, it’s truly a magical experience to spend Christmas at the parks!

The Disneyland Resort website has a wealth of information to help you plan your magical vacation. You can browse the onsite Disneyland Resort hotels, as well as the many Good Neighbor Hotels. Although we are unable to provide specific recommendations, be sure to use an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner when selecting a travel agent. Alternatively, you can also call the Disneyland Resort Vacation Package Line at (714) 520-5060 to speak with a friendly Cast Member who will gladly assist in booking your trip.

While Disneyland Resort is within several hours of driving from me, I occasionally fly to help maximize my time. I find it’s easiest to fly into John Wayne Airport (SNA) in Orange County and it’s about 20-30 minutes (depending on traffic) to the Disneyland Resort. Long Beach Airport (LGB) is another good option as well.

The hotel that’s closest to the theme parks is Disney Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, since it has a special entrance for hotel guests with valid theme park admission directly into Disney California Adventure Park. This hotel also has convenient access to Downtown Disney District and is a quick stroll to Disneyland Park’s front entrance.

Pixar Place Hotel is located across the street from Disney California Adventure Park and Guests are able to use a special entrance into the park (with valid theme park admission; available through January 4, 2026).

While it doesn’t have direct access to Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park, Disneyland Hotel is a brisk walk to Downtown Disney District’s monorail station, where Guests with valid theme park admission can skip the Main Entrance and take the monorail to Tomorrowland inside Disneyland Park.

I hope this information is helpful for you, Anne. As you continue to plan your visit to the Happiest Place on Earth, please feel free to stop by planDisney again if you have more questions for us.

    Sending you pixie dust,
    Kiki

Meet the Panelist: Kiki, California

Greetings! I have been fascinated by the magic of Disney since I was a little girl; now that I am a mother of two, I love watching my children experience Disney Parks through their own eyes. I am also surrounded by fellow Disney-loving nurse friends whom I enjoy quick adults-only Disneyland Resort escapes or Disney Cruise Line voyages with. Whether you are planning your once-in-a-lifetime family trip or a short adults-only getaway to the Happiest Place on Earth, I am here to help!
