AA: WDW Bus transportation; multigenerational

Diane from FL Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I am wanting to clarify if it is possible for people not entering a park or staying at a resort to use resort transportation to visit the different WDW Resort hotels by parking at Disney Springs and taking bus and boat?

Hi there Diane, and welcome to planDisney!

If there's anything that makes Walt Disney World Resort so wonderful for fellow locals or folks who just want a taste of the magic, it's that the Disney Resort Hotels are open for everyone to explore and enjoy - not just guests who are staying there nor necessarily going to the theme parks. It's a great way to experience the dining and recreational experiences and perhaps even inspire families to return for a stay one day!

In fact, throughout my research and observations at Walt Disney World Resort, I noticed that with a stricter policy currently in place for day guests attempting to park at select Disney Resort Hotels like Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa or Disney's BoardWalk Inn it has become more and more popular for folks to park for free at Disney Springs and hop on the complimentary Walt Disney World Resort transportation from there. (This is something that becomes very evident especially during the holidays when families like to explore and see the decorated gingerbread displays or venture around for their New Year's Eve plans.)

It's important to note that as with anything at Disney Destinations, there's always a chance that policies can change in the future without prior notice, but in the meantime I'm glad that taking these complimentary modes of transportation for "Resort Hopping" is welcomed and encouraged. Personally, if I'm not necessarily staying directly on property or just popping by for a quick evening visit it's nice to be able to board a boat en route to tasty beignets at the Scat Cat's Club or know that my chance to snack on delicious zebra domes while watching the wildlife at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is just a bus ride away!

    Happy Resort Hopping!
