Bonjour, Jyl and bienvenu (or welcome) to planDisney!
While choosing a favorite resort is an arduous task as there are so many I love, ultimately when forced to pick,
Disney's Riviera Resort always ends up victorious. From the quick access to EPCOT aboard the
Disney Skyliner to the onsite dining options like
Le Petit Café and
Topolino's Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera, I could stay here time and time again.
Now, since Disney's Riviera Resort is a Disney Vacation Club property, securing a 1-Bedroom Villa can be tricky. DVC Members who hold this as their home resort have the ability to solely book these rooms 11 months in advance
(booking then opens up at 7 months) which means that there could be a very limited inventory of non-DVC villas for any given date. Flexibility in your travel dates will give you the greatest chance of successfully booking a 1-bedroom Villa. Beyond that, I would encourage you to keep checking back as guests' plans do change and it's possible that availability will open up. If your dates are firm and you're interested in trying out another resort in a 1-bedroom Villa, my family loves the rustic vibes at
Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge and
Disney's BoardWalk Villas for the option to walk to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios. Finally, while more "off the beaten path,"
Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa is a great option if you love visiting Disney Springs (they have a walking path) and the 1-Bedroom Villas are beautiful. Because of the size of this property, you'll often find availability here when other resorts are fully occupied.
Jyl, while this likely isn't the news you were wishing to hear, I do hope that it's helpful as you continue to plan. If you have any additional questions, please come on back to planDisney!
