Welcome aboard, Valerie!
I’m so thrilled to hear that you’re considering booking your first
Disney Cruise! I understand wanting your mom to be as comfortable as possible. I can assure you that Disney Cruise Line offers a
variety of services for Guests with all types of disabilities to help provide a magical vacation for the entire family. I recommend downloading the
Information for Guests with Disabilities or Medical Conditions guidebook to get an overview of the services offered. Now, let’s dive in and discuss the best itinerary for your crew.
I’m happy to share that only a few ports of call in the Caribbean require a tender: Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and George Town, Grand Cayman. Bahamian cruises are three to four nights long, while Caribbean cruises are usually five to seven nights. You might want to look at the
Planning Tools on the Disney Cruise Line website to get an overview of
Disney Cruise Line’s beautiful ports of call. You can also filter cruises by date, destination, and departure port to view the prices and accessible stateroom options.
Valerie, my favorite island to visit is
Disney Castaway Cay. There is everything you need on the island for a relaxing beach day – plenty of lounge chairs, umbrellas, towels, and even a delicious BBQ lunch. You don’t have to worry about your mom because the island is wheelchair friendly. Guests can also borrow a limited number of complimentary sand wheelchairs or use their personal wheelchair on the island tram. I know your family is going to have a wonderful time!
I hope I’ve helped set your plans in motion. If we can offer any other assistance, please sail back to planDisney and ask. My pals and I are delighted to help!
Happy Planning!
