Ahoy there!
Greetings and welcome to planDisney! Here's something to celebrate:
so much is already included when setting sail with Disney Cruise Line, from fabulous food, exceptional service, Broadway-caliber shows, and special memory-making moments with beloved Disney characters!
Beth, it sounds like you already know the steps for
redeeming your Disney Rewards for your Disney cruise booking. Step 1 has already been completed: Requesting a Rewards Redemption Card on the Disney Rewards website. Now you are waiting to complete Step 2: once your redemption card arrives,
contact Disney Cruise Line or your travel agent to make your reservation.
Waiting until the redemption card arrives is your only play if you are wanting to use those redemption dollars towards your cruise reservation. However, there is no guarantee that the itinerary you have your eye on will remain open until the sail date since you are considering an early November voyage. You could always pay for the reservation with a credit card and then use the redemption card to cover
all Disney Cruise Line purchases charged to your stateroom account and not the cruise reservation itself. But if it’s a significant amount you are redeeming, then you will have to wait for the redemption card to arrive before booking.
My last tidbit of advice is to keep your redemption card handy because you can also use the dollars towards your stateroom account charges and if they do not exceed the reward dollars that you added, any remaining reward dollars will be placed back on the card. I have an idea how you could use that remaining money: a
placeholder for a future Disney cruise! Having another sailing with Captain Mickey on the horizon definitely makes getting off the ship a little easier.
SEA ya real soon!
