Well hello there, Lori. Thanks so much for reaching out to us here on planDisney! We love repeat customers, so keep those questions coming.
Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass can both be great services to lessen your time in lines and maximize your time in the theme parks. And the best part is that you can now reserve up to 3 experiences ahead of time with Lightning Lane Multi Pass. If you're staying at a
Disney Resorts Collection Hotel, you can currently book your advance Lightning Lanes 7 days ahead of your arrival date at 7 a.m. EST. If you're staying at different accommodations, you can book your Lightning Lanes 3 days ahead of the start of your
theme park ticket at 7 a.m. EST.
Currently, with
Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you can reserve up to 3 Lightning Lanes ahead of your visit. Then, on the day of your visit, for each Lightning Lane you redeem, you can book another (subject to availability). You can continue this way, booking a new Lightning Lane for each Lightning Lane you redeem, one at a time, as long as there is availability. So in your example scenario, your 8 p.m. Lightning Lane reservation will not hold you up for the day. Instead, once you redeem that 1 p.m. Lightning Lane, you'll be able to make another reservation for any available and included experience. The same is true for your 2 p.m. reservation
and your 8 p.m. With Lightning Lane Single Pass, you can reserve up to 2 experiences per person, per day, and they have no bearing on your ability to make additional Lightning Lane Multi Pass reservations.
Just note that the later you get into the day, the less availability there will likely be. While this depends on crowd levels and how many people purchase the service for the day, this is generally the case, especially when it comes to high-demand experiences. This is why the typical advice is to make your first Lightning Lane Multi Pass reservation earlier in the day, but if you're comfortable with paying for the service for your 3 pre-arrival selections and then a few possible others, it'll probably be worth it for you. One of my favorite parts of these new services is that you can see what is available for your pre-arrival selections before you actually make your purchase. So if you don't get the experiences you want for those pre-arrival bookings, you don't have to buy the service. If you do, then great!
Lori, if you have any other questions, keep doing what you're doing:
asking them! We are always happy to help Guests make the most magic on their upcoming
Walt Disney World Resort vacation.
Live your dream,
Matt
