Hello to you Jennifer and welcome to planDisney! Thank you for cruising our way as you prepare for an incredible
Disney Vacation by Land and Sea!
A Disney Vacation by Land and Sea is what it's called when you combine the magic of a stay at the
Walt Disney World Resort with the magic that's waiting for you at sea with the Disney Cruise Line. My family loves to take advantage of the proximity of
Port Canaveral to the Walt Disney World Resort in exactly this way. And as the Walt Disney World Resort is currently
celebrating 50 years of magic, it's the perfect time to visit.
All of the
Walt Disney World Resort Collection Hotels are approximately an hour-long drive from Port Canaveral. My recommendation to you is to consider which of the theme parks you will be enjoying during your visit and choose your hotel based on the proximity of where you might spend most of your time. If you think you'll be wandering the World Showcase at
EPCOT, I'd recommend
Disney's Beach Club Resort for a short walk to EPCOT and the amazing beachside water park area, Stormalong Bay.
If you picture yourself spending most of your time at the
Magic Kingdom Park, I'd love to recommend
Disney's Contemporary Resort for their
fantastic dining options, short walk to the Magic Kingdom, and the chance to board the
Resort Monorail from inside the resort!
That is just barely scratching the surface when it comes to the Disney Resort Collection Hotels. If you'd like some more help with choosing where to stay before your cruise, I suggest that you submit another question to the planDisney panelists specializing in Walt Disney World. If you share some of your preferences for things to see or even age ranges of those in your traveling party, a panelist will respond with an answer full of recommendations just for you.
You can speak to a travel agent, or reach out to the
Vacation Planning Specialists at the Disney Cruise Line to book your hotel stay. They'll even help you arrange for
ground transportation from your Resort Hotel to Port Canaveral. When you purchase ground transportation, you'll be whisked off to the port in comfort and leave the driving to the Disney Cruise Line. It's such a relaxing way to start your vacation!
I hope you have an unforgettable time combining a visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth with a very magical Disney Cruise. Please sail back to planDisney again if you have any more questions.
Adventure is out there,
