Hi, I wanted to plan a family vacation at Disney, but I do not want to go during its busy season. This year I went the week of Sept 14 & found it to have just the right amount of people. What other times do you suggest we go? Thanks.

    Hi there, Nancy!

My absolute favorite time to visit the Walt Disney World Resort is the couple of months between Marathon weekend and mid-March, with the exceptions being Princess Half Marathon Weekend and Presidents Day Weekend.

Attendance is fairly low - certainly below regular season and considerably below high season - and the weather is perfect (mild days, cool nights, low chances of rain). It's warm enough to swim during the day in one of the heated pools on Disney property, and cool enough to need a sweatshirt at night.

The other times that are reasonably low in attendance: the couple of weeks between October 31 and Thanksgiving, and the week just after Thanksgiving. Again, weather is terrific, and you'll have the benefit of enjoying the holiday decor (in the second option).

What a wonderful dilemma -- happy planning!

    See you later, celebrator,
    -Deborah B.
