wanted to know wich is the best resort to stay at. It will be myself, huby and 13 yr old son . we'll be going in october. WE stayed at pop and loved it but wanted to try out other resorts . any suggestions? mainly a good chunk of time will be at parks .

Hi Jessica!  I'm happy to hear you loved Pop Century Resort!  But, I also think it's great that you want to branch out and try something new, and at Walt Disney World, you can't go wrong with the resort choices!

Pop Century Resort is known as a "Value Resort".  You may want to keep your costs down again, and since you were happy with your accommodations there, there are some other value resorts you could try out:  All Star Movies, All Star Music, or All Star Sports.  All of these resorts have similar amenities to the Pop Century Resort, but the themes vary.  We have stayed at All Star Music Resort twice and been very happy with there.

I would also suggest that you look into spending just a little bit more per night to upgrade to a one of the "Moderate Resorts", which include:  Caribbean Beach Resort, Coronado Springs Resort, Port Orleans - French Quarter, Port Orleans - Riverside, and Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.  Each of these resorts offers a few more amenities than the "Value Resort" options.  Usually, the decor is more elaborate, the pools have a slide and hot tub, there are full-service restaurants on site, and limited room service.  Your 13-year old son may enjoy having the slide at the pool, and you may really enjoy having the option of having a Table Service restaurant within your own resort.

Of these moderate resorts, I do have a personal favorite to recommend:  The Caribbean Beach Resort.  My family has always enjoyed the pirate-themed swimming pool there, and the food court, which is convenient to the pool area with great options.  And, my husband and I honeymooned there, so there IS a sentimental attachment!

I hope you enjoy whichever choice you ultimately decide upon, and have a wonderful Disney vacation!
