Thanks for sailing by planDisney, Douglas! It looks like you’re researching a future Disney Cruise Line vacation and I’m here to help!
I love a spreadsheet and analytical comparison as much as anyone, so your question really resonates with me. Unfortunately, there is not a specific link on Disney Cruise Line I can send you to where you will find the passenger size of each ship. However, if you want to compare what each ship has to offer, you can
visit each member of the fleet online. Currently, there are three classes of vessels: the Magic, Dream, and Wish, with the Adventure class arriving soon.
Asking me to pick a favorite ship is like asking me to pick my favorite child. Each has its own unique personality and offerings. If you prefer having more options for things like dining or nightlife, one of the larger ships might be perfect for you. However, if you prefer a more intimate experience and like everything within reach, ships like the
Disney Magic or
Disney Wonder (which hold about 2,700 passengers) might be more your style.
One of our servers on the Magic once explained that he preferred the Magic class of ships because he felt like it was easier for him to know the Guests since there weren’t as many of them. We would also see our servers outside of the rotational dining rooms serving at some of the pool deck restaurants like Pinocchio’s Pizzeria.
He also mentioned a smaller ship means fewer Guests when visiting Disney’s islands,
Castaway Cay and
Lighthouse Point. That being said, I recently visited Disney Castaway Cay during a sailing on the Disney Wish (which holds about 4,000 passengers) and I still felt like there was plenty of space on the beach for me and my friends and I didn’t even have to wait in line to indulge during lunch at Serenity Bay BBQ.
If you have any other questions, you can always visit the
online help center. Of course, we’re happy to have you sail back to
planDisney if there are any other components of your Disney Cruise we can help you think through.
Embrace the magic,
Sami
