Greetings, and welcome to
planDisney, Toni, thank you for consulting us!
Toni, I am sorry to hear that you are dealing with hip issues and I wish you all the best for your upcoming surgery.
Disney’s Disability Access Service commonly referred to as the DAS provides Guests alternatives while waiting for their DAS Return Time because their disability presents them with challenges tolerating extended wait times at attraction queues. With my son, we take him nearby to rest or grab a bite to eat. Toni, you do not have to present any documents of support, but to be honest, I always travel with any for my peace of mind.
Registering for the Disability Access Service can be done in two ways, from the comfort of your home anywhere between 2 days up to 30 days before your arrival via the DAS Advance – a video chat or you can register in-person at any Guest Relations inside any Disneyland Resort theme park.
To prepare for your DAS registration, please ensure you, as the Guest registering will be there, any Guests in your travel party, or you can link their Disneyland Resort theme park tickets to your My Disneyland planning section in your Disney account. This way you will facilitate the process of the creation of a DAS Guestlist during your registration. As well, please ensure you have made your Disneyland Resort - Theme Park Reservations for all in your travel party using valid theme park admission.
I recommend downloading the
Disneyland Mobile App as there is now a
Self-Selection Tool for selecting DAS Return Times available for registered Guests. The registered DAS Guest or anyone in their DAS Guestlist may select a DAS Return Time on the app, at an attraction entrance, or at a Guest Experience Kiosk nearby. When redeeming the DAS Return Time at an attraction, the registered DAS Guest must be present.
For your comfort, Toni, you may wish to refer to
Disneyland Resort’s Electric Conveyance and Wheelchair Rentals to consider such a convenience during your visit.
Tips:
Please ensure you have made your
Disneyland Resort – Theme Park Reservations in advance of your arrival.
Update the Payment Method in the Disneyland Mobile App to facilitate app transactions for vacation essentials, such as
Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering and add the Disney Genie+ service which will save you time waiting in lines for attractions that offer the Lightning Lane entrance.
You will be able to use the DAS in conjunction with the
Disney Genie+ service if you wish.
Toni, I hope this information is helpful, if you need more clarity, or more details please contact Disability Services at (407) 560-2547, or send an email to disability.services@disneyland.com.
It was my pleasure assisting you today, and I wish you all the best with your surgery and a wonderful visit to Disneyland Resort, thank you so much, Toni!
