Hi! Wanted to know about how long it would take to drive from Pop resort to the Contemporary resort,as apposed to how long it would take to take a bus I guess to Magic Kingdom then the monerail? Thanks

    Hi Renee!

I would definitely drive a car from Pop Century to the Contemporary Resort if you can!  Another option is to take a taxi.

I haven't timed it, but I drive around Walt Disney World all the time.  My best guess is it would take about 10 minutes to drive from Pop Century to the Contemporary Resort.  It would take a lot longer to take a bus to the Magic Kingdom and then to walk or take a monorail to the Contemporary.  The exact time will greatly depend on how lucky you are.  Buses come about every 20 minutes to Pop Century for the Magic kingdom.  If you are unlucky and just miss a bus, then you can count on 20 minutes plus the time to load the bus, the trip to the Magic Kingdom (about 10 minutes as well), and then the time to unload the bus.  Then you would have to walk for 5 to 10 minutes (depending on how fast you walk)  to the Contemporary, which is the fastest way to get there from the Magic Kingdom bus stop.  Another option is to walk to the Magic Kingdom monorail station.  If you wanted to ride the monorail, you would have to wait for one; the average wait is probably on the order of 10 minutes though you could get lucky and find one waiting there at the station.

Generally speaking, with the exception of getting to the Magic Kingdom, driving a car is faster than taking a Disney bus.  The only exception is the Magic Kingdom, because there you have to park in the parking lot, then take a tram to the Transportation and Ticket Center, and then take a monorail or ferry boat to the park; Disney buses to the Magic Kingdom drop you off right outside the main gate!
