Hi there, Donna! Welcome back to planDisney! Oh, this is such a practical question and honestly one that comes up more often than you'd think! Life happens, plans change, and sometimes not everyone can make it to that dining reservation you were so excited about.
Here's the deal with Disney dining reservations and no-shows:
Disney's official policy is that they can charge a no-show fee if your entire party doesn't show up. However, if part of your party shows up (like 2 out of your 3), you're usually in the clear! The restaurants are typically pretty understanding about smaller party sizes, especially if you let them know when you check in.
The no-show fees are really more about people just not showing up at all without any communication. Disney restaurants work super hard to accommodate everyone, and they're usually pretty flexible when you actually show up and communicate with them.
That said, I'd definitely recommend trying to modify your reservation on the app to adjust your party size. You can do this easily by logging into your
My Disney Experience account, locating the reservation, and clicking the modify button. If you have any issues, you can also
call the Disney dining help line, and a friendly cast member will be happy to assist. This will help the restaurant plan ahead and sometimes even opens up space for another Guest to enjoy a little Disney dining magic of their own.
Hope this helps put your mind at ease, Donna! Have the most magical dining experience, and please come back and see us with any additional questions.
See ya real soon,
Emille
