Hi, Suzanna!
I bet your family is looking forward to visiting Walt Disney World. With so many new additions, especially in Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom Park, you’re sure to find plenty of attractions and entertainment your children will all enjoy!
While there aren’t any official special events scheduled for that week in June, the crowds will likely be fairly heavy, as is characteristic of the summer months when schools are on vacation. The good news is that while the busiest times of year can be crowded, they come with certain perks, like extended park hours and a bustling entertainment schedule.
The best advice I can give you for visiting the theme parks with kids from multiple age groups is to have a touring plan in mind before you arrive. Sit down in advance and look at the Walt Disney World Resort website, particularly the attractions list, together. You may find that there’s more overlap in their interests than you anticipated in spite of their age difference, and it’s a great way to get a jump on the planning and excitement.
Your kids might enjoy Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Tutorial, a high-spirited outdoor show in Frontierland at Magic Kingdom Park that’s fun for kids, teens and adults, too. Volunteers are chosen to train in sword fighting, and the Captain calls for willing scallywags to take the official pirate’s oath! I also suggest checking out the resort’s tours and special experiences, like the Backstage Safari, the Pirates & Pals Fireworks Voyage and Disney’s Family Magic Tour. Visit the
Special Events & Tours webpage for more ideas and call (407) WDW-TOUR or (407) 939-8687 to make reservations.
I hope this helps, Suzanna. Please write back with any other questions you may have as you continue to plan your pixie-dusted vacation!
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
