We wanted to see the glaciers up close so booked the boat excursion but the only time available was 5:30pm. Isn't that too late? Doesn't it get too dark to see anything?

    Hello Cori!

Your question about viewing glaciers up close on your upcoming Alaskan cruise made my heart soar! My spouse and I have incredible memories of a similar glacier excursion on our Disney Cruise Line adventure to Alaska. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, and the wildlife sightings were unforgettable.

In mid-May, sunset in that part of Alaska is expected around 8:50 PM, with civil twilight lingering until about 9:40 PM. Your 5:30 PM excursion sounds perfectly timed—you’ll have plenty of daylight to soak in the stunning views. Just be prepared for a bit of a chill! I recommend wearing layers, including hats and gloves, so you can comfortably spend as much time as possible on the deck of the expedition vessel.

While you’re aboard the Disney Wonder, don’t forget to keep an eye on your Navigator app. There are so many activities and experiences that are unique to the Alaskan itinerary. From naturalist talks to special photo opportunities, you won’t want to miss a thing!

Wishing you an unforgettable adventure filled with awe-inspiring glaciers and magical memories!

    Bon Voyage!
