Hi there, Aldrian! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!
First of all, let me congratulate you on the new addition to your family! I cannot think of a better way to celebrate having a little Mouseketeer on the way than with a visit to
Walt Disney World Resort. I think it's a wonderful idea to have your gender reveal at The Most Magical Place on Earth, and I'm sure this will be a memory you'll treasure forever! Unfortunately, all types of
explosives and smoke machines are prohibited on Walt Disney World Resort property. However, I have some great alternative ideas for your "Make it blue! Make it pink!" moment.
I recommend stopping by a
Guest Relations location to pick up a complimentary "I'm celebrating!" button. You could ask a Cast Member to write your baby's gender on the button and then hide it in a bag until you're ready for the big reveal. The Guest Relations Cast Members can write the gender on your button using a marker. Or if you want something a bit fancier, the Cast Members at
Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in
Magic Kingdom Park can do a more artistic personalization on your button for a small fee.
Another option for your gender reveal would be to visit a souvenir shop such as the
Emporium. You could pick out one pink and one blue baby outfit or a set of Mickey and Minnie plush toys. If you let the Cast Member at the register in on your secret while checking out, they can ring up the correct item for you and bag it up without you seeing it.
Once you have your celebration button or souvenir item, you can decide where you'd like your gender reveal to take place. If you'd like to
visit Mickey Mouse at Town Square Theater, I'm sure he and the Cast Members hanging out with him would love to help you make your baby's gender announcement.
No matter where you decide to do your gender reveal, I would recommend asking a
Disney PhotoPass photographer to help you capture this magical moment. You had mentioned wanting your gender reveal to take place during the
fireworks, however, I might suggest doing the reveal prior to the fireworks show. The Disney PhotoPass photographers don't typically take pictures while the fireworks are happening, and the dimmed lighting in the park might make taking those pictures difficult. Watching
Happily Ever After as a follow-up to your gender reveal sounds practically perfect in every way!
I hope these ideas are helpful as you plan for such a momentous occasion! If you'll be returning to Walt Disney World Resort after your baby's arrival, be sure to check out all of our informative
