I wanted to make a food dining reservation only for my spouse and daughter, but my name is prefilled in the reservation. How can I remove it or can my spouse check-in under my name?

    Hi Jason, welcome to planDisney!

I'm thrilled to see that you and/or your family members will be visiting the Sunshine State in two short days. Florida is living up to its nickname these days, so be sure the travelers pack plenty of sunscreen and devise a hydration plan for busy park days. It's helpful to know that all quick service dining locations offer complimentary ice water upon request.

I am the food planner in my family, Jason. I enjoy waking up early on Disney dining day (60 days before arrival at 6:00 a.m.) and making advance reservations for dining for my family. Most reservations are for my entire family, but there are a few times when we split up by request or necessity. On a recent vacation, for example, my husband enjoyed brunch at Olivia's Cafe with my in-laws and son while my daughter and I did some shopping at Disney Springs.

When making a dining reservation in the My Disney Experience mobile app, the dining reservation is always connected to the My Disney Experience account of the person making the reservation. This means their name cannot be removed from the reservation and they are the only person that can modify or cancel the reservation. Others can be added to the reservation as long as you are connected as Family & Friends. For my situation, I made sure my husband's name was listed on the Olivia's Cafe dining reservation and he had no problem checking in for the reservation in my absence.

If making a dining reservation for your spouse and daughter in the My Disney Experience mobile app, Jason, click "Update Party" to add your spouse to the reservation. You can update the party of an existing dining reservation, as well. This connects the reservation to your spouse's My Disney Experience account, which ensures a smooth check-in process at the restaurant. It's also possible for your spouse to give your name at check-in. Make sure your spouse knows that restaurant check-in begins 15 minutes before the reservation time.

If you choose to make a dining reservation online, you are given a chance to select a reservation contact from a dropdown list of your Family & Friends. If you make your spouse the reservation contact, they will manage the reservation, which means they are the only person that can modify or cancel it moving forward.

Thanks for your efforts to create magical food memories for your family, Jason. Please return to planDisney for any other delicious planning details!
