Just wanted to confirm, i usually buy my tickets using my military ID at the park. Is that still the path to buy disneyland tickets? The base is really out of the way

Hey there, Ray! Welcome to planDisney. Thanks so much for stopping by with your ticket question. Before I get to your answer, please let me thank you for your service on behalf of all of us here at planDisney. We salute you!

Currently, any ticket type that is available specifically for military, whether it's the standard tickets that have a slight discount or the Disney Military Promotional Ticket will need to be purchased from a participating military base ticket office. I know this is unfortunate news if you are coming in from out of town as it will add some extra miles to your trip. Although if you qualify for the Disney Military Ticket Offer, I think the extra time to get to a military base would be worth it for that savings. These tickets are available to active duty and retired U.S. military as 3 or 4-day Park Hopper Tickets.

As a military spouse, we use these tickets annually and really enjoy the discount and flexibility of these special tickets. Depending on where you are coming from and if you are driving or flying, I looked up some options for you for the closest bases. If you are driving to Disneyland Resort, Camp Pendleton will most likely be on your way. If you are flying, I did see that Los Angeles Air Force Base does have a ticket office as well and it's not far from LAX airport. However, they are closed on Wednesdays. I would look up these options and double-check days and times of operation and perhaps even call to confirm they have these tickets available.

That hopefully helps you get through one hurdle, but once you have your tickets you will also need theme park ticket reservations in addition to your tickets to enter the parks. I just looked at the Theme Park Availablity Calendar and see that there is some availability for Disney California Adventure Park as a starting park for Park Hopper Tickets at the time of writing this, but the calendar does constantly change as Guests cancel and book reservations. Dates also do fill up, so please keep this in mind.

Ray, I hope this information helps you figure out the best option for your visit to Disneyland Resort. See you real soon!
