Hiya, Amy!
Welcome back to planDisney! I'm so glad you dropped by with another question about your upcoming visit. For me, there's nothing better than celebrating another trip around the sun at Walt Disney World Resort –– how exciting that your little one will be turning three during your Walt Disney World Resort visit! During your stay, be sure to stop by any
Guest Relations location or the Front Desk of your
Disney Resorts Collection hotel to pick up a complimentary birthday button –– not only does it make the perfect souvenir, but it's also a great way to let everyone around you join in the fun and send plenty of birthday wishes your son's way!
As it sounds like you already know, little ones who arrive at Walt Disney World as two-year-olds, but leave as three-year-olds, get a little extra pixie dust as Guests of Mickey Mouse. In other words, you won't need to purchase additional theme park admission for these little Mouseketeers for the days after their third birthday. And this special birthday magic also extends to dining at buffet-style and all-you-care-to-enjoy family-style restaurants, as well. For these types of dining experiences, like
Chef Mickey's or
Cape May Cafe, you won't need to purchase a separate meal for your little one –– they'll be able to enjoy food along with the rest of the family.
However, if you plan to eat at other table-service restaurants, any meal you choose for your little guy would come at an additional charge. If you're dining at a restaurant that has a set price for each diner, like
Breakfast à la Art with Mickey & Friends at Topolio's Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera, you'll have the option not to purchase a meal for your two-turning-three-year-old, but they won't be provided with a meal of their own. To order anything for them off the menu, you'll need to pay for those items.
Thanks so much for visiting planDisney, Amy. I hope this helped to answer your question and I'm wishing your family a magical birthday visit to Walt Disney World Resort!
Happy Planning,
Amy
