    I wanted to buy genie +,but we won't be in the park until 2pm. Is there a chance there will not be any slots left to reserve rides by then?Is that information available before purchasing genie +?I don't want to buy the pass if rides will be booked

    Hey there, hi there, ho there, Danielle! Thanks for visiting us at planDisney with your questions. Genie has been a very helpful friend to me at the parks recently and I’m happy to share insights with you about my experience.

    First, you will be able to get a sense of the Lightning Lane options before you decide to purchase Disney Genie+ at the parks. Once you have entered the park, open the Disneyland mobile app, go to “Tip Board” and select the park at the top. Under the attractions that offer Lightning Lanes, you’ll see the standby wait time as well as a “LL Disney Genie+” time. You can scroll through the list to get a sense of how many attractions and which attractions still have Lightning Lane windows left during the day. 

    Now, about if there will be Lightning Lanes left after 2pm…in my experience, even on very busy days, we have been able to continue booking Lightning Lanes throughout the day. The very popular attractions such as Space Mountain or Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! may have fewer options left by that time, if any. On my recent visit with my girls, we reserved several Lightning Lanes after 2:00 p.m., including Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Matterhorn Bobsleds and Splash Mountain. 

    As for the three attractions with Individual Lightning Lanes, the only one I haven’t been able to successfully book later in the day is Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. That one typically fills up by early afternoon, but you never know, the Force might be strong with you. 

    Keep in mind that you can only use one Lightning Lane per attraction per day. So, if you are meeting friends or family at the parks, and they have already used a Lightning Lane for an attraction before you arrive, they won’t be able to use a Lightning Lane for the same attraction again. For instance, if they already rode Space Mountain using a Lightning Lane in the morning, they won’t be able to use a Lightning Lane for Space Mountain with you after you arrive.
