I wanted to book a disney trip in January 2023 but its completely blacked out when I go to book a resort. Why is that?

    Howdy Katelynn! Welcome to planDisney!

I'm so glad to hear you are thinking about booking a Walt Disney World Resort vacation! There is nothing quite like the thrill of planning a vacation, is there? I don’t know about you, but within minutes of dropping bags in the door after my latest visit to Walt Disney World, I've already popped my laptop open to book another! What can I say? The magic is always calling me!

Now, let’s get to your question so you can get to booking that fabulous vacation! Katelynn, you’re not seeing availability for January 2023 because those dates were not yet available to book vacation packages for. But, I have some FABULOUS news for you. Starting on June 8th, Guests can begin booking their vacation packages for all of 2023. So, by the time you read this answer, you’ll likely be able to plan the vacation of your dreams! That's some excellent timing, right? I just love delivering good news!

Now, the easiest way to book your vacation is right on the Walt Disney World website! To get started, head over to the “Build Your Vacation” banner at the top of the Walt Disney World website. You can enter the dates you’re looking to visit, the number of Guests in your party, and any specific Disney Resorts Collection hotels you want to stay at (if applicable). Next, click on “View Rates,” and you’ll see all available accommodations and pricing details. Once you pick the Disney Resorts Collection hotel you’d like to stay at, you’ll be able to select theme park tickets, add-on options, and more! Finally, once you’ve found the vacation package that fits your needs, simply click “Check Out” and follow the prompts to complete your booking, and you’re on your way!

Another great option to book your vacation is by calling the helpful Cast Members on the Disney Resort Hotel Reservations team at (407) 939-1936. They will be more than happy to go through all available options and help put together the vacation that best suits your needs. But, of course, there may be some time on hold while you wait to speak with a Cast Member, so I do still recommend booking online.

Katelynn, planning a Walt Disney World vacation is so much fun, but there is a lot to think about. Just know that we are here to answer any questions you may have! So, please don't hesitate to write back, and we will be happy to help you make the most of your vacation!

    See you real soon!
