Ahoy there, Sharda! Welcome to planDisney!
Your Disney cruise is just around the corner, and I’m so excited for you! The
Disney Magic holds a very special place in my heart. Not only is it Disney Cruise Line’s very first ship, but it’s also the very first Disney cruise ship I ever sailed on, once upon a time! The rest, as they say, is magical history, and my family was absolutely hooked after that sailing!
One of our favorite parts about sailing with Disney Cruise Line is
Rotational Dining. Like you, I also prefer the earlier seating for dinner, and would be happy to share how you can request that time.
Rotational Dining is Disney Cruise Line’s way of ensuring you get to try all three main restaurants during your sailing, while a personalized dining team rotates with you! There are two dinner time slots available: 5:45 PM and 8:15 PM. The best way to check the availability is to contact Disney Cruise Line. However, even if the earlier seating is not available, you can request to be placed on a waitlist for it. While it's never guaranteed, it's always worth trying to change your dining time to the preferred one.
To be
placed on the waitlist for the earlier dinner seating, you can either
contact Disney Cruise Line, and they will do it over the phone, or you can do it in the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App. Open your reservation in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App. Scroll down to “Dining” and you will see the dining time you were assigned when booking your cruise. To change from that time, tap “Change” and here, you can request to be placed on the waitlist for the earlier dinner seating. If you come off the waitlist and are assigned to the earlier dinner time, you will see it in your reservation in the app.
But let’s say it’s getting close to your cruise date and you’re still on the waitlist. Don’t fret, as you can also request to change it once you’re on board the Disney Magic. On the day you embark on your cruise, in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App, you will find instructions on where to go on board to change it, after logging in to the ship’s WiFi. While it's not guaranteed, I have been successful with this if I were ever unable to change it while still at home.
While we’re on the subject of dining, I also want to share one of my favorite things to do at home: scoping out all the great restaurants and meals on board! In the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App, under “Start Exploring Your Ship” you will find a “Dining” section, where you can check out all the restaurants on board, and start planning those delicious meals!
Sharda, I hope that I was able to offer clarification. I wish you the most MAGICal memories on board! Please sail back to planDisney if you have any other questions.
Bon Voyage,
Rana
