If we wanted to attend Mickey's Backyard BBQ on a Thurs. night (assuming 6:30 start) in Aug 2011, would we have enough time to get to the Chip n Dale campfire or would we miss some of it? We'd love to do both on same night, but not sure if enough time.

I love both Mickey's Backyard Barbecue as well as Chip and Dale's Campfire Singalong in Fort Wilderness.  You could possibly do both especially in the summer when the campfire won't get really going until it gets dark.  My suggestion is to head to Mickey's Backyard Barbecue early so you are in line to enter.  You can then immediately head to the buffet lines and get your dinner and start eating. By the time the show begins and the characters enter your meal can be completed and you can concentrate on the fun and dancing!  The live band will play for quite a while while characters dance on the floor or off to the side allowing many opportunities for the children to interact.  Following this will be a trick roper who is amazing and he will have a couple of the children help him in his act.  Basically at any time you can depart.  To reach the campfire area you can either wait on a bus for a very short ride or you can walk which is what I suggest.

They will be moving the Mickey's Backyard Barbecue area at some point so be sure and check the latest before your trip to be aware if this has relocated to the front of Fort Wilderness.  If this is the case then you would want to take a bus to the campfire area.
