Welcome to planDisney, Lucy!
We’re so excited to see that you’ll be visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth with your children! They (and you) are going to have the most incredibly magical experience.
The buses, Monorail, boats, and
Skyliner do not require car seats when transporting you around Walt Disney World. You will be fine without while you’re on Disney property.
Getting to and from the airport is a little different, so here is the information you will need regarding this below:
Florida law states that: “Children five years old or younger must be secured in a federally approved child restraint system. Children three years old and younger must use a separate car seat or
the vehicle’s built-in car seat. Children four to five years old and less than four feet, nine inches tall,
must sit in either a separate car seat or a built-in child seat or a seat belt depending on height and weight.”
I am happy to let you know, though, that if you use a shuttle bus (for example, Mears Connect), your child will not be required to be in a car seat in the motor-coach. And while they are not required to offer car seats for their smaller shuttle vans, they do have some available on a first-come first-served basis.
If you are using a ride share service, sometimes they will offer car seats; however, you may have to wait much longer for a car that has the seats you would require.
If you’re planning on renting a car or using ride share services, I highly recommend bringing car seats. If you will be on a shuttle bus, that will be up to your own choice. (We have traveled to Disney World many times without car seats when utilizing shuttles to and from the airport.)
I hope your trip is full of magic, Lucy! If you have any additional questions before your arrival, we would love to hear from you again at
planDisney!
See ya real soon,
Allyn
