Hi! I wanted to ask about the magic kingdom parks! I’m from a foreign country and it’s my very first time going to Disney, I wanted to ask about the order of the attractions, what should I do first? What itinerary should I use to make the most of my day?

Hello there, Gigi! I'm so happy you found us here on planDisney! We love helping Guests plan their best day ever!

Magic Kingdom Park is the original park at the Walt Disney World Resort, and it is full of classic and new attractions to fill your day with magic and laughter. While itineraries for this park can vary based on your preferences and priorities, let me share some suggestions to give you a taste of what this whimsical park offers. But before we get started, I have a few tips for filling your day with as much magic as possible:

    • Arrive 30-45 minutes before the park opens. This gives you time to park, take a monorail or bus to the park, go through security, etc.
    • When you get to the United States, download the My Disney Experience mobile app to help you navigate the park, see wait times, and make reservations. You may also want to invest in Lightning Lane Passes to help shorten your wait times and get more done.
    • While I wouldn't typically suggest skipping the Happily Ever After nighttime spectacular, wait times sometimes dip during the show. So, if attractions are your priority, this may be a good time to tackle some of them.
    • Speaking of wait times, they typically spike in the middle of the day. So, I'd recommend taking a break for lunch at a quick-service restaurant during this time. They're quicker than table-service restaurants, and you'll still get to relax and slow down for a bit. Don't forget to use Mobile Order to cut down your wait for food. Then, tackle some of the attractions that don't tend to have long waits during this time (see below).
Now, when it comes to itineraries, I'm simply going to give you the attractions you should prioritize. This way, you'll know which ones typically rack up the highest wait times and can knock them out earlier, while sprinkling in the ones that don't usually have long waits throughout your day.

    • If you're purchasing Lightning Lanes, I would highly recommend grabbing one for TRON Lightcycle/Run after the sun sets and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at any point. If not, you'll want to go to one of these first. I'd recommend saving TRON for the evening as it's pretty amazing at night.
    • I'd next prioritize Peter Pan's Flight. This would be a great Lightning Lane Multi Pass selection as well.
    • Afterward, I'd focus on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Space Mountain, Jungle Cruise, and Tiana's Bayou Adventure.
    • Of the remaining attractions, Haunted Mansion, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh can develop lengthy lines, especially in the middle of the day.
    • For the rest of the attractions, they can be sprinkled throughout your day, especially when the other attractions I've mentioned have longer waits. Click the plus (+) sign in the center of the bottom menu in the app and select "View Wait Times & Showtimes" to see current wait times and choose your next adventure from there.
Gigi, if you have any other questions, please send them my way. I can't wait for you to experience it all!

Reach out and find your happily ever after,
    Matt
