Jo from Surrey Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I wanted to apply for a DAS pass as a member of our party has type 1 diabetes and finds queuing difficult (can add to risk of a hypo). Cannot see on app/website how to do this. Please advise. Many thanks.

Hello Jo! Welcome to planDisney! Thank you for trusting our panelists to answer this important question. I understand how crucial it is for you to ensure that your entire party can enjoy the Disney World theme parks and have an amazing experience, and I'm here to help you out today.

The Disability Access Service (DAS) has undergone some changes earlier this year and is now focused on supporting Guests who, due to a developmental disability like autism or a similar disorder, are unable to wait in a conventional queue for an extended period of time. Based on this criteria, I don't think it fits your needs at this moment. However, if you still want to apply and verify with a trained Cast Member, you need to be in the United States and book a virtual video call to determine eligibility. If you are not in the US and will only arrive closer to your park days, you can visit Guest Relations, and they will make arrangements to get you to the virtual call, as it's not possible to register for the DAS service in person.

Having said that, there's an array of services and options that you can explore on the Accessibility page on the Disney World website. As you know, Disney is dedicated to providing the best support system for any Guests with disabilities, and I'm sure we can figure out how to better support the member of your family to have a grand time. Some of those options might include renting a wheelchair or an ECV to give him/her more comfort while queuing, or the Attraction Queue Re-Entry service, that allows a Guest to briefly step out of the standby queue and then rejoin their party at a later moment.

For all these other services and accommodations, the best course of action is to speak with a Cast Member at your Disney Resort when you arrive, visit the Guest Relations building at each park, or talk to a Cast Member at each attraction you want to visit. They always go above and beyond to offer the best possible support.

I hope this helps, Jo. Please feel free to come back anytime and let us know if you have any additional questions. We are always happy to help out our wonderful friends like you.

    Cheers,
    Nilson
