Does walt disney world have a taking down of the american flag ceremony at any of the parks? I read recently that disneyland has one every evening. We are a military family and would really enjoy it.

Hi Carolena! Walt Disney World indeed has a very moving flag raising and lowering in the Magic Kingdom park. It personally means a lot to me as my father was a WWII veteran who was blessed with the chance to participate in the lowering ceremony. It was his last visit to Walt Disney World and the last thing he did. He was a proud veteran who appreciated what this ceremony represented.

If your active military member would like to participate they can stop by the Guest Relations location inside the park to ask if they have an opening. It is held at the large flagpole in the center of the circle at the front of Main Street. A small band will play and the entire family can participate in some way. It is a beautiful and emotional ceremony and encourage all guests to stop for the raising and/or lowering of our flag each day in the Magic Kingdom.

if you are staying at the Wilderness Lodge you can also ask to be the family chosen each day to raise the American flag high atop the resort.
