Hello Scott! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney! I also read about the updated park operating hours. Visiting the Disney Parks in the evening is one of my favorite things to do when vacationing at the Walt Disney World Resort. It can be frustrating when plans need to change due to updated park hours. The Disney Parks occasionally update their operating hours due to several factors. I have faced this planning issue in the past and can offer a few pieces of advice that I hope are helpful.
When it comes to the Disney Parks, keep in mind that you are able to get in line for an attraction or ride right up until park closing time, so if Magic Kingdom Park is scheduled to close at 6:00PM, you can get in line up until that time to enjoy the attraction, even if after park closing time. After you experience the ride or attraction you can then take your time making your way out of the park.
Another piece of advice is to consider scheduling a
Disney Dining reservation in one or more of the parks as late as the restaurant offers. You will not be rushed out of the restaurant at park closing time. Take your time making your way out of the park after enjoying your meal.
Another suggestion is to consider visiting Disney Springs! I see that
Disney Springs is currently scheduled to remain open through 10:00PM during your planned visit. Here your family can enjoy experiences such as an
Aerophile balloon flight or a tour of Lake Buena Vista in a
Vintage Amphicar! These are really fun experiences which are available for all ages! These experiences are offered right through the evening!
If you are staying at a Disney Resort Hotel, be sure to inquire with the front desk about evening events which might be offered to Guests of the resort! There are usually really fun activities that are enjoyable for the whole family!
Finally, check the
park operating hours calendar over the next few months. Park operating hours are always subject to change which can mean either reducing or adding park operating hours.
