Hi Amber!
I'm overjoyed to see you will be at
Walt Disney World Resort in a few short days! Knowing you are planning to be there with a little one makes my heart so happy! You are going to love seeing Walt Disney World Resort through the eyes of your child! It's absolutely breathtaking!
I have great news for you! There is a
Planning Guide for Parents of Preschoolers & Small Children! It's filled with oodles of great tips to help you put the finishing touches on your plans.
As a mom, I also want to share a few things to help make your vacation magical.
Are you planning to take your own stroller? If so, be sure to have some kind of identifier on your stroller (possibly a bright colored tag). You will find that many strollers look very similar when parked next to each other in the designated stroller parking areas. You will be thankful to have something that helps you quickly and easily identify your stroller. When you are out and about, be sure you have a small blanket or towel with you. Use it to cover the seat of the stroller when you are inside an attraction. The warm Florida sun can make the stroller very hot on your little one's skin.
As you are planning your packing list, be sure to review the
Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules because there is important information regarding strollers. "Strollers larger than 31” (79 cm) in width and 52” (132cm) in length are not permitted. Stroller wagons are also not permitted."
One of the most important recommendations I can give is to visit the
Baby Care Centers. Located within all four theme parks, they are the perfect place to change, feed or nurse your little one. They were life savers when my kiddos were younger. In the Baby Care Centers, you will find a changing room with tables, private nursing room, feeding area with highchairs, kitchen with microwave and sink, and more. They also have a small on-site shop where you can find several baby essentials such as formula, baby food, diapers, and wipes.
Some of the must have items on my packing list include sunscreen, sunglasses and/or a hat if your kiddo will wear them, change of clothes in a plastic storage bag, small snacks if needed, water, and any other needed baby essentials. For added magic, an autograph book and pen will be great for meeting
Disney Characters. If you plan to enjoy a meal in a
table service restaurant, you might also want to include a small toy or something to entertain your little one while you wait for your meal.
I'm sure you must be so excited for your vacation to begin! Enjoy every magical moment!
Thanks so much for sharing your question with the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Please let me know if you need any other information as you plan your magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
