We will be at Walt Disney World for New Year's as a big Christmas gift for my 3 girls. They are ages 8,4, and 1. What is there to do to celebrate and ring in the New Year? We want this to be very special and magical for them.

Hi, Angela! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

What an amazing Christmas gift! I am so excited for your family’s magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation! There are many exciting happenings throughout the Disney Theme Parks, Restaurants and Disney Resort hotels on New Year’s Eve, The Disney Parks Blog posted about special entertainment, events, and fireworks last yEAR, and I can only assume they will have similar offerings this yEAR! Here are some ways to make it extra special for you and your girls:

-Enjoy a dance party around World Showcase and stay for the midnight presentation of IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth. Seeing as though you have younger children, there is also an earlier fireworks show!

-Last yEAR there was also a dance party at Disney’s Hollywood Studios followed by fireworks,

-And, of course, Magic Kingdom Theme Park also showcases a special fireworks show, Fantasy in the Sky to ring in the New Year! You could even book a Theme Park View room at one of the Disney Monorail Resort hotels and watch the show from the comfort of your own balcony and in your PJs!

-You could also celebrate the day with a visit to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique to transform your girls into New Year Princesses! I strongly suggest making reservations up to 180 days in advance as the Fairy Godmothers-in-Training are quite busy that time of year!

-Finally, there are often Disney Restaurants offering special New Year’s meals.

Seeing as though it is still quite early in the year, we don’t know exactly which special events will happen this December 31st, but I hope I have given you an idea based on past experiences.

Have a magical day and come back real soon!
