Hi Beverly,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. My family has a goal of staying at every Walt Disney World Resort hotel, and we had two split stays last year to help us get there. Switching resorts is a fun way to experience even more magic, with twice the food options, amenities, and Disney details to explore! Have so much fun with it!
Disney makes it easy to move from one resort to the other, and they will certainly assist in transporting your luggage between your two resorts. I’ve seen this work a couple of different ways, so my advice is to check in with Bell Services at
Disney’s Pop Century Resort about their procedures the day before you want to transfer your luggage to
Disney’s BoardWalk Inn.
On my stay last month, we brought our bags to Bell Services at our first resort, and they tagged each bag, provided me with claim tags, and then took care of transferring the bags to our next "home." Once I arrived in the room at my new resort, I called Bell Services, and the brought the bags up to my room within about 15 minutes; you also have the option of stopping by Bell Services and collecting the bags yourselves if you don't want to wait. Don't forget to have some cash on hand to tip the Cast Members who handle your bags (a dollar or two per bag is typical).
My pro tip: because your room may not be ready at your second resort until check-in time, make sure you pack a backpack with things you might need for the day you switch resorts.
Beverly, enjoy both resorts and your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World! Please come back and see us if you have any further questions as you pack, plan, and do your Disney dreaming.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
