We will be at Walt Disney World March 27 thru April 2, staying at Port Orleans - French Quarter. Is there a bus that goes directly to Typhoon Lagoon from there? Also, are there buses that go to Typhoon Lagoon directly from each of the 4 theme parks?

Surf's Up, Paul! Thanks for hanging ten alongside us here at planDisney!

I know I'm not alone, but seeing Disney's Typhoon Lagoon open this year after being closed for so long was a sight for sore eyes! From Crush 'n' Gusher and Miss Adventure Falls, to Ketchakiddee Creek and Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool, it's great to have such an iconic water park open for Guests again! As a Disney Cruise Line specialist, I don't think I'd ever been as excited to see a shipwreck as I was to see Miss Tilly up there on Mount Mayday, knowing that Guests would be returning!

With everything at Typhoon Lagoon to look forward to AND an incredible stay at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter, it's a good thing you're checking out the best way to get from one place to the other!

I can tell you, as part of the reopening, the Walt Disney World® Bus Service to Typhoon Lagoon has changed from its previous iteration. Unfortunately, there is not currently a direct bus from any Walt Disney World Resort Collection hotels or theme parks to Typhoon Lagoon. Nowadays, all roads - at least by bus - to Typhoon Lagoon go through Disney Springs!

While this makes the trip a bit more circuitous, it does give you the chance to practice using the Directions capabilities of the My Disney Experience app, as well as get a little bit of shopping done...who doesn't need a new swimsuit for a visit to a waterpark, right? Honestly, I think the directions capabilities are one of the most helpful, but frequently missed parts of the app!

To get directions to and from any two points at Walt Disney World Resort, simply open up the My Disney Experience app and open the maps menu (the little pin icon second from the left). Then select "transportation" from the dropdown menu at the top of the screen. Next, select Walt Disney World Bus Service, and finally "Get Directions." Then, you're all set to search for your starting point and destination, and POOF - well looky here: step-by-step directions to your desired location!

Now, transportation schedules and routes are always subject to change, but I'd say there's a fair chance you should plan on connecting at Disney Springs during your trip!

I hope that helps you read the waves enough to be able to paddle out and shoot the curl, Paul! I can't wait for you and your crew to experience all there is to see and do at Typhoon Lagoon - let us know how it goes! I wish you an absolutely magical trip, and if you run into any other questions as your finish planning, please drop a message in a bottle and send it our way at planDisney.

    Don't forget your sunscreen!
