I will be going to Walt Disney World in July and was wondering if the magic bands are very hot to wear. I am taking my family and the boys sweat quite a bit. If they make you sweat is there any type of sweat band that you can wear under the magic band?

    Hi Lorraine,

I've worn MagicBands in all kinds of weather and never had a particular problem with it feeling sticky or sweaty. I even ran in the Walt Disney World half marathon a few weeks ago and didn't experience any issues.

The Bands are very adjustable. You can choose to wear then tight against the skin or relatively loose, so there's no constant rubbing. It's also easy to take them off and put them in your pocket for a while if you need a break .

They do sell fabric covers for the MagicBands in several of the larger stores on Disney property. The ones I've seen are made of a stretchy, lycra-like material rather than something sweat absorbent. If you really want something like this, it would be fairly easy to make one yourself. If you head over to the independent website, you can find an article called Make a CoverBand for Your MagicBand: Step by Step Tutorial for No Sew and Stitched Versions. I'm pretty craft-challenged and I think even I could figure out how to make these.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know what else we can do to help.
