    We are going to Walt Disney World at the end of July and I would like to get a caricature done. I want one full body in color of my husband and I and then another of just my son. Where is the best place to go to get this done and how much should I budget?

    Hello, Shari! That is a fabulous idea. Last year I got a silhouette done in the Magic Kingdom of my son and sat next to a couple that was getting a caricature made. It was so good that I vowed to come back and have one done of us. I know that caricature artists are located throughout the majority of Walt Disney World including the resorts and Downtown Disney. Actually, I believe that there is a caricature artist in every lobby of the Value and Moderate resorts. Since the caricature artists are from outside companies that are contracted out by Disney, the prices vary. The pricing also depends on if you want color and whether or not you want a face and body or if you just want your face drawn. I believe that the pricing is per person, but that policy might be different across contractors. For an additional price you can also have a family pet added to the caricature as long as you've got a decent picture of it on hand. You can even have the artists work from a cell phone picture of someone that isn't even there.

    Like I said, the prices will vary and are subject to change, but I did happen to snap a photo of the prices during my last trip. For a black and white photo with face only it is $15.00, while a black and white face and body is $20.00. For a face only photo with color it is $20.00, and for a face and body with color it is listed as $30.00. These prices were from a resort lobby, and pricing is more than likely a little different if you go elsewhere. I usually don't list exact prices for anything since they change so much, but I wanted to give you an idea of prices so that you could budget a rough estimate. 

    In my personal opinion, the caricature I saw done in the Magic Kingdom located next to Sleepy Hollow had a lot more detail than ones I've seen done in the resort lobbies. I will more than likely go to that caricature spot when I go to get ours done.
