I am going to walt disney world in april 2011 for the first time. Its going to be my fiance and myself. can you let us know what to be prepared for(weather,crowds,rides,ect..)?

Hi, Robert! Congratulations on your first visit to Walt Disney World and on your upcoming nuptials! What an exciting time in your lives right now!

As far as what to expect in terms of weather, crowds and wait times, I can only give you a guess based on my anecdotal experiences. Yet, I can also point you to several resources that can give you more factual information based on tons of research and others' trips and vacations.

For me, I love visiting WDW in April because of Epcot's International Flower & Garden Festival. Take lots of pics and hear the concerts at the American Gardens Theater at World Showcase! Also, the weather is usually beautiful and getting quite warm (mid to upper 80s). In all of the parks, the crowds are usually some of the largest we've seen.  Many US schools take spring breaks in April; Easter is in April; and the spring is a big convention season, too. The good news is that -- even in large crowds -- it's easier to move around and get into places with just 2 adults!

For more up-to-date data, head over to touringplans.com and consider subscribing to one of their many helpful tools. You can take a look at their Crowd Calendar, download an app for your smart phone or receive detailed daily plans for when you're there. In the least, you can purchase (or check out a copy at your library) of The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World.

    Other sites/resources to consider are:

    • allears.net
    • mousesavers.com
    • passporter.com
    • wdwinfo.com
    • intercot.com

While you're there, you should check out The Wedding Pavilion at The Grand Floridian. WDW makes a great wedding and/or honeymoon destination, too! Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation!
