Greetings Cathy, and welcome to planDisney! Thank you for bringing your question to the panel.
The Walt Disney World Resort opened on October 1, 1971, and for the last 50 years, we have been able to enjoy all the magic and splendor of a trip to the ultimate vacation destination. I was among the celebrants on October 1, 2021, and just looking at Cinderella Castle brought me to tears. I spent the day with family and friends making core memories.
This is the most extravagant celebration I have ever attended. There are so many new attractions and experiences that have made their debut and many more to come this year. The
World's Most Magical Celebration will have a magnificent 18-month run. This means that you have until March 31, 2023, so come along and sing the song and join the jamboree.
Disney Enchantment is the Magic Kingdom’s new nighttime spectacular that combines pyrotechnics, castle projections, and award-winning songs to celebrate your favorite Disney Characters.
EPCOT’s Harmonious combines the art of storytelling through song, fireworks, and magnificent floating screens, inspired by many Disney classic movies.
Throughout all four theme parks, you can enjoy some golden moments with your favorite Disney Characters with the
Disney Fab 50 Character Collection. The new MagicBand+, available soon, will allow you to interact with each of these glorious statues. Can you find all 50?
You can enjoy some new snacks and treats offered in all 4 theme parks and resort restaurants. The
50th Anniversary Sips and Bites guide will take your taste buds on their own celebration. Be on the lookout for some new and classic menu items and desserts, perfect for an Anniversary party.
If adventure is on your mind, book a passage on the
Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser and explore a galaxy far, far, away on a fully immersive interactive experience. Choose and live your Star Wars story during your voyage.
If you are looking for the perfect way to end your day,
Beacons of Magic will take your breath away. Each iconic landmark will come to life and shimmer in EARidescence, nightly. Do not miss your chance to see Cinderella Castle in the Magic Kingdom, Spaceship Earth at EPCOT, the Tree of Life and Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and the Hollywood Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in all their glory.
The golden age of celebrating 50 years of magical vacations is in full swing. If you are planning to join in the fun and have more questions, just
ask me.
See ya real soon,
Andrea
