Whitney from TX Asked Note: This answer was provided prior to the change to planDisney and may still contain references to Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I have never been to Walt Disney. I have no clue what to do, attractions to see, or reservations to make. I am trying to budget. I can't go past January of 2018, was trying to look at May and staying one week. Any advise? Mom of three girls 13 to 9.

    Hi, Whitney!

Welcome! You have plenty of time to plan, so Hakuna Matata, no worries! I think you should focus on getting your dates and room booked. Dining reservations and FastPass+ selections can be planned later so just get the basics done for now.

Start with your resort. Since you are looking to travel on a budget, I suggest a Value Resort: Disney's Pop Century Resort. This is a fun and colorful location that your girls will love. These rooms sleep 4 guests. If you jump to a 5th guest, perhaps a Family Value Suite at Disney's All-Star Music might do the trick, since these suites sleep up to 6 guests.

Packages and pricing will become available sometime mid-summer. At that time, you can book a travel package. With a Magic Your Way package, you will need a $200 deposit, with the balance due 45 days prior to  arrival. This package can include room, tickets and the Disney Dining plan.

You can also book a "room only" reservation. You will need a one night's deposit with the balance due at check-in.  When booking this way, you can purchase tickets separately and link them to your account.

Regardless of which way you book your room, keep checking the Special Offers page as you get closer to your travel dates. If an offer comes up for your travel dates, call a friendly Cast Member at (407)934-7639 to see if the offer can be applied to your travel plans and save some money.

Once rates are posted, you can book online, but since it is your first visit, I suggest booking by phone (407)934-7639. The Cast Members who book the vacations are simply amazing and can walk you through pricing and options.

The Moms Panel will be happy to help as you plan your vacation!
