Hello Michael! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your vacation planning question. While I'm home dreaming about my next adventure, I'm always happy to help a fellow traveler.
Speaking of dreaming, a trip to
Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa sounds practically perfect right about now. I love resort stays that allow me to walk to my destination. Additionally, as an avid runner, I appreciate the ability to
step out of my room get a few scenic miles in before I start my theme park touring. As
Disney Vacation Club members, my family and I have enjoyed several vacations in the Disney Springs Resort Area, and here's what I've discovered while strolling and jogging through this serene, riverside oasis.
The walkway from Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa to
Disney Springs is currently accessible and located adjacent to the Congress Park section. As part of Walt Disney World's phased reopening,
entrance points to Disney Springs have been limited, but Guests may still use Marketplace entrance. As you are walking around, you may also notice there is a large-scale refurbishment project going on at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. The villas in Congress Park were the first to be completed, so you shouldn't run into construction equipment in this area, but be sure to watch for signs and maintenance vehicles as you make your way to the walking path.
The walkway that connects Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa to
Disney's Old Key West Resort is a scenic path that follows the Sassagoula River and waterway used by the water taxis en route to Disney Springs. You'll also pass
Disney's Lake Buena Vista Golf Course, so watch out for golf balls overhead if you're in the neighborhood during tee time. This charming thoroughfare leads to the South Point Road area of Disney's Old Key West Resort, where you could continue your journey on foot, or hop aboard a bus to reach the Hospitality House and delicious Floridian specialties of
Olivia's Cafe. Is there a better reward for your miles than the Southernmost Buttermilk Chicken? Maybe the Key Lime Tart, but it's a close call!
I hope this gives you some ideas for getting out and exploring the resort area during your fall visit. Make sure to follow signs, be mindful of Florida wildlife on the trails, and have a magical stay!
See ya real soon,
Betsy
