Is the walkway between the Polynesian resort and the Magic Kingdom currently open?

    Hi Dan,

Welcome to planDisney! I absolutely love the tropical Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and could sit and enjoy the South-Pacific-themed resort and its incredible amenities for days! A few years ago, I was thrilled to hear that there was finally going to be a walkway connecting Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to Magic Kingdom; having another option beyond Disney Water Transportation and Disney Monorail was exciting!

Currently, Disney Vacation Club is expanding and building a new tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. The tower is located where the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show was held up until 2020 and falls between the resort and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Construction on the tower is still underway with no set date of completion yet (I’ll be keeping an eye out on the DVC website for updates). Guests can still walk from Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to Magic Kingdom but unfortunately, Guests staying at Disney’s Polynesian Village cannot. They can instead take a water launch or Monorail.

I hope this information helps your vacation planning, Dan. I wish you a most magical trip to Walt Disney World Resort, enjoy every minute!

    See ya real soon,
    Candace
