Hi there, Odetta!
Welcome to planDisney. Visiting the Disneyland Resort is such a magical experience, filled with excitement, unforgettable memories, and a touch of pixie dust at every turn. From the moment you step inside the Main Entrance Gates, you'll find that the parks are thoughtfully designed to be accessible for all Guests. Whether you're strolling down Main Street or enjoying the attractions and shows, there are many ways to make your visit both comfortable and enjoyable.
Since you mentioned using a walking stick with a small seat attached, I'd be happy to share more about what is permitted in the parks for Guests with
mobility needs. Happy to let you know that
canes, cane chairs, and seat-walker mobility aids are all allowed for Guests to use, so you should be all set to enjoy your day in the magic comfortably.
There are many resources at your fingertips should you need additional support during your day. You can always visit the
Accessibility Services Kiosk in the Main Entrance Esplanade, or if you find yourself preferring a
wheelchair or ECV, those are available to rent from the Stroller Shop just to the right outside the Disneyland Park Entrance. Within the Disneyland App, you can even pull up the accessibility information for each attraction by searching for the particular ride and tapping the "Accessibility & Other Information" drop-down menu. It will let you know if Guests must transfer from wheelchairs, if they must be independently ambulatory, or if they can stay in their mobility device. Of course, you can also ask the friendly Cast Member at the entrance as well!
Odetta, you are in for such a treat visiting during
Halloween Time. I hope you get to enjoy all the pumpkins, ghouls and ghosts, and
characters in the cutest seasonal attire! Did you know that you can find where and when the characters are meeting, also directly in the app? When you tap on the pinpoint icon along the bottom navigation bar, the park map will appear. Along the top of the map, you can scroll until you see "Characters", and their locations will be revealed! If you tap into "Show List", it will give you a quick reference by character name of where and when you can find them. If you've got a favorite or a hug from Mickey is always on your list, this is a good place to start planning your park day!
I hope this has been helpful! If you have any more questions, we are always here for you at planDisney. Only 3 more sleeps until you're in the magic!
Enjoy!
Tara
