Hi Janie! Welcome to planDisney!
There is something magical about both Disney's Wilderness Lodge and
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. Once you arrive onsite at either location, you are instantly transported to a serene environment that feels as though you are thousands of miles away from any theme park. The rustic décor and outdoor theming have attributed to the uniqueness of both. I have an upcoming trip planned during the holiday season to stay at the Wilderness Lodge and I am counting down the days until I am there!
The walking path that used to connect these two locations is no longer available due to construction that was taking place here. To travel between these two resorts, your best option will be to take the
bus that runs between the two. I would check in with the front desk at either resort to get more information on the frequency that the bus runs. Your other option will be to take the boat from Disney's Wilderness Lodge or Fort Wilderness Resort to the Magic Kingdom. You can then transfer from here to another boat over to the resort you are trying to get to. This will obviously take more time, but two complimentary scenic boat rides around Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake sounds like a wonderful journey to take!
If you find yourself over at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, the
Chip 'N Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long has returned as of July 6th. This is another complimentary event that takes place nightly (weather depending) and is perfect for all families. You can buy a s’mores kit and roast marshmallows all while singing along with Chip 'n' Dale. Also, if a boat ride is in your future, I highly recommend timing your departure around the time
Disney Enchantment starts at the Magic Kingdom. Watching the fireworks over Seven Seas Lagoon and the entrance to the Magic Kingdom is a truly magnificent event to see!
Janie, I hope you have an amazing time during your next visit!
